Security Clearance denial ?

i applied for a DOD job in 2008, and after long, senseless interview, i was surprised to be denied the clearance. since then i send many letters to know why i was denied and lost that job opportunity, and i didn't get any answer. is there a legal way to know why i was denied? and to sue the DOD for that denial and ignorance ?
