Is a Registered Environmental Manager helpful to a career in an environmental field?

I am interested in getting a certificate at NREP for Registered Environmental Manager (REM). I am curious about some input from anybody who got this certificate. I can't really find any independent reviews about it and with so many questionable certificates you can find online, I am just careful. Is it legit? Did it help you in your career? $300 + costs for learning materials is a lot of money for me. Thank you a lot.
